The final report of Lord Darzi's NHS next stage review "High Quality Care for All" signals the thrid stage of reform of the health service, refocusing attention on the quality of care.
The improved AHP service offer for the the public was announced by the Secretary of State for Health on October 21st 2008. The offer centres on three key aspects for improving the services that allied health professionals deliver.
- Mandate the collection of referral to treatment data
- Improve ease of access and promote benefits of self-referral
- Improve quality of service delivered and empower patients through quality metrics, persoal health budgets and integrated care organisations
