NOVEMBER 2011 From the TiMS Meeting at the MS Trust Conference November 2011
A new project on “Self Management of Sleep Disturbance” is to be undertaken based on the same “template” as the recent project of “Core Stability” that was undertaken; but with a broader focus on all therapies; rather than being physiotherapy specific. A clinical questionnaire was piloted and the final version given to all MS Trust conference attendees. It is hoped to present an abstract based around analysis of the questionnaires to the RIMS conference. Ethical approval for the project has been granted.

JUNE 2011 Following the June 2011 Meeting of the The TiMS Network Working Group Research Project Group the title for the latest research project was decided upon as:
"To explore what interventions neurology specialists use to help people with MS to manage their sleep patterns."
Thanks to all the professionals who took the time out to contact me outlining their clinical practice in the area of sleep hygiene.
Our preliminary work had identified sleep as a major problem and had indicated that more work on sleep hygiene with people with MS would be valuable.
For the first step of the project we plan to develop a survey around specific questions on sleep hygiene practise which was distribute during the MS Trust Conference.
The final outcome of the project will be to develop a toolkit to help professionalswork with people with MS in the area of sleep hygiene.
