MS TRUST CONFERENCE 2007: A celebration of Therapist Achievements

At the November 2007 MS Trust annual conference the particular achievements of two therapists were recognised.
These were:

GAIL TOWNSEND a neuro-vocational rehabilitation specialist working in Buckinghamshire PCT. Gail is an occupational therapist and she has undertaken research into enabling people with MS to remain in work. One outcome from the research has been a booklet produced in conjunction with Lynn Fox an information officer at the MS trust entitled At work with MS. The booklet is aimed at people with MS and copies can be requested from the MS Trust.

LIZ BETTS a neurology specialist physiotherapist who works at the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Liverpool. Liz has worked with the MS Trust and Mr Motivator to produce an exercise DVD aimed specifically at people with MS. Entitled Move it for MS the DVD provides a complete exercise programme for people at all levels without the need to leave the home environment. People with MS can purchase a copy from MS Trust and health professionals can request copies of flyers.

These two awards are a direct follow on to last years' award given to MICHELLE ENNIS an occupational therapist from the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery for a book entitled Living with fatigue.

The MS Trust is always looking for opportunities for partnership working. If you have any suggestions about information that would help people with MS manage their condition do please contact them on 01462 476700 or email:info@mstrust.org.uk
